I Got a sick little boy in the studio with me today. It’s always been hard for me to paint and take care of the kids at the same time. I can only be one thing at a time. Art making takes so much focus for me and when the kids were super little, painting wasn’t a priority. But I think in the last year I’m getting better and juggling both so long as I have projects on the go. Painting small and often has helped me open up to ideas and get into a creative flow. The downside to daily painting I find is that it keeps me small and the ideas are endless. So I am really trying to jump into larger scale paintings within a series. These walnut chocolate butter cookies are made by my husband’s Nonna. I may need to add some icing sugar to them. She always pours a generous amount over them or it’s almost offensive to eat without. lol.
We all have that special someone who baked something we remember them by. That person who spent hours in the kitchen to create something memorable.
